Provence, France and Sussex, England
MDCV is a collection of chateaux, estates and vineyards across Provence, France, and Sussex, England, offering the best in still and sparkling wines.
MDCV is the collective name for 4 Vineyards in Provence: Château de Berne, Château des Bertrands, Château Saint-Roux & UP l Ultimate Provence; alongside Kingscote, an award-winning vineyard, set in the heart of West Sussex. The 4 Provence vineyards share the same passion for authenticity, excellence, sustainable development, gastronomy and Provencal lifestyle with a unique character.
MDCV has a vision to produce the finest English and Provencal wines. They strive for innovation and use many cutting-edge techniques in their vineyards and winemaking. They have a passion for sustainability and manage all their vineyards organically, employing pioneering techniques to minimise their impact on the environment, such as composting organic waste, harvesting rainwater and heating their sites using natural sources, such as ground source heat pumps.
The Ultimate Provence vineyards span 100 acres around the town of La Garde Freinet, at the northern foot of Notre Dame des Anges chapel. Set in wild countryside and bordered by a vast evergreen oak forest, the vineyard is characterized by shallow soil, laid on a waterproof subsoil sandstone slab. This excellent terroir is nourished with a natural compost of oak leaves and vine stalks.
Their flagship rosé is both elegant in style with its iconic bottle design as well as in taste with a vibrant, fresh flavour profile.
Kingscote owns over 70 acres of vines, and plans to increase the number of vines in forthcoming years. They have several different grape varietals that produce wines that are true to the estate and perfectly reflect the taste of Sussex. The winery has been operating organically since 2019. With consumer interest in all things local, the appetite for quality English wine has never been higher. A definite must have on any wine list.
